Disability Advice Service (East Suffolk)
The Disability Advice Service (East Suffolk) works to improve the quality of life of disabled people by promoting the uptake of welfare benefits and providing free, impartial advice and information about the help and support available to them.
The Felixstowe Port Community Fund awarded a grant of £2,000 towards the outreach services provided to Felixstowe residents.

Help with minibus
Anchor Trust’s Oakwood House
The Anchor Trust’s Oakwood House improves the lives of older people with mental health issues by offering them choice, dignity and quality of life in a homely environment.
The Felixstowe Port Community Fund awarded a grant of £2,150 towards the purchase of a minibus to transport residents to appointments and for social events.

‘Safe Place to Be’
Felixstowe Youth Development Group
A safe environment and support for young people aged 11 to 19 from Felixstowe and surrounding villages is provided by the Felixstowe Youth Development Group.
The group was awarded a grant of £2,000 by the Felixstowe Port Community Fund as a contribution towards the venue hire for its “Safe Place to Be” project, which provides activities for 11 to 13-year-olds from 4pm to 6pm every afternoon during term time.

Heart defibrillator
St John Ambulance, Felixstowe
The purchase of an automated external heart defibrillator was purchased by St John Ambulance, Felixstowe, with a £2,100 grant from the Felixstowe Port Community Fund.
St John Ambulance’s mission is to enable people, properly trained, to save life and give first aid wherever and whenever needed, and to encourage the personal development of the young.

Bereavement support
Cruse Bereavement, Felixstowe
The Felixstowe Port Community Fund awarded a grant of £2,000 to Cruse Bereavement, Felixstowe, to fund bereavement training for new volunteers.
Cruse works for the wellbeing of bereaved people by helping them understand their grief and cope with their loss.
